Start with the job, not the network size
For a small webshop, good Awin alternatives can include Daisycon or TradeTracker for a network-led programme, UpPromote or Refersion for affiliate software, and ThreeStove for a focused creator-campaign workflow. impact.com is also worth evaluating when broader partnership management is a requirement. These are candidates to investigate, not a cheapest-to-best ranking.
First decide what you lack: relevant partners, software to manage partners you already know, or someone to run the programme. Those are different purchases. This comparison is written by ThreeStove, which is one of the options discussed. We have not independently benchmarked the providers.
Awin itself belongs on a small-shop shortlist
Awin offers Access alongside Accelerate and Advanced. It is therefore misleading to dismiss Awin as enterprise-only. Ask which plan supports your integration, country and intended level of service, then compare the actual offer with alternatives.
Do not add ShareASale as a separate current alternative: Awin announced its closure for 6 October 2025. Older comparison lists may not reflect that change.
Which alternatives should you investigate?
Need publisher recruitment? Daisycon and TradeTracker are affiliate networks to compare. Ask for relevant partner types in your market, not just a network-wide membership count. Membership does not mean a publisher will promote your shop.
Already know your partners? UpPromote is positioned as a Shopify affiliate app; Refersion provides ecommerce affiliate tracking. Investigate integration, partner onboarding, reporting and payment responsibilities for your particular plan.
Need several partnership types? impact.com covers affiliates, creators and referrals. Check whether the capabilities you need justify the operating workload.
Want to test a focused creator campaign? Review ThreeStove for advertisers. Confirm relevant creator availability before committing resources. A campaign workflow is not a promise of partner participation or sales.
A small-webshop decision guide
Recruiting new publishers: shortlist a network such as Daisycon or TradeTracker. Ask for relevant partners in your country and category, integration requirements and who owns recruitment. A database entry is not an active partnership.
Managing partners you already know: investigate UpPromote or Refersion. Compare shop compatibility, onboarding, reporting and payment responsibilities; software does not replace partner recruitment.
Managing several partnership types: investigate impact.com. Confirm that the features you need justify the total programme cost and operational workload.
Testing selected creator campaigns: investigate ThreeStove. Check application and campaign eligibility, available creator fit, attribution rules and reserve requirements before committing. No model is a universal winner; compare the same brief and verify the current offer directly.
Compare the same cost basket
Request a written breakdown of setup charges, recurring fees, transaction or platform charges, commission, funding requirements and cancellation terms. Add product samples, shipping, discounts, content rights and your own management time. A lower subscription can still produce a higher total cost.
For ThreeStove, creator commission and the platform fee are separate: the platform fee is calculated on commission. Funding a reserve is also required for campaigns to run. No setup fee does not mean no cash commitment. Check the current advertiser page and campaign terms rather than relying on an old price table.
Run your comparison at a low, expected and high order volume. Treat these as planning scenarios, not forecasts, and keep returned or rejected orders separate from confirmed commission.
Test before moving your programme
Give each shortlisted provider the same brief: shop platform, target country, product category, available margin, partner types and who will manage outreach. Ask what you must do yourself.
Then test the practical workflow: partner joins, link is issued, an authorised test order appears, the attribution explanation is understandable, a return is handled and reporting can be exported. If you use two providers during a trial, agree how overlapping claims are resolved before paying the same order twice. Keep existing payment obligations intact during migration.
The short answer
Which is cheapest? That cannot be answered from the brand name. Compare quotes against the same volume and work requirements.
Do I need a network? Possibly not if you already have suitable partners and can manage recruitment yourself. Software alone, however, will not create demand.
What should I do next? Shortlist two options and run one bounded pilot with a named owner and an agreed budget. Our broader ThreeStove, Awin and impact.com comparison explains the different operating models. Provider descriptions were checked on 28 September 2026; verify live terms before purchasing.
