What a custom link is
Every approved campaign gives you one default tracking link. Standard links use go.threestove.com. A verified branded link domain can replace only that host when the advertiser has enabled it; the attribution route remains controlled by ThreeStove. A custom link is that same link with labels baked in: which piece of content it belongs to, which platform and format it appears in, and optionally which campaign wave, category, or variant.
The destination and the commission terms do not change. The labels only change how the numbers come back to you: instead of one anonymous total per campaign, your reporting reads like your content calendar, with clicks, registered orders, and commission grouped per post.
Labels are reporting metadata. They do not influence approval, attribution rules, or payout terms.
Create one
In the app, open My Links, find the campaign, and choose Custom link.
Step 1: Pick the platform and the format. The format tiles are drawn at their real proportions, so a story is the 9:16 frame you will actually post and a YouTube video the 16:9 one.
Step 2: Name the content. The identifier fills itself as a URL-safe version of the name; edit it only if you want your own code inside the link.
Step 3: Optionally group it with a campaign label and category, or open the extra labels for placement, creative, audience, variant, and channel.
Create the link, copy it, and use it in that one piece of content.
What each label means
Content name and identifier: how this post shows up in your reporting. One identifier per piece of content.
Campaign label: a free grouping label for your own waves, like a summer push. It is separate from the actual campaign you are promoting, which is already fixed by the link.
Category: your own topic grouping across campaigns.
Extra labels: placement (where inside the platform), creative (which asset), audience (which segment), variant (an A/B marker), and channel. Labels accept letters, numbers, and . _ ~ - only, up to 64 characters.
Never put personal or customer data in a link. Labels are for non-sensitive campaign words, not for names, e-mail addresses, or anything traceable to a person.
Where the numbers appear
Open Analytics and switch to the Content tab. Pick a period, for example the last 7 days, and you see clicks, registered orders, and commission grouped by the content labels you created.
Events appear after processing, not instantly. A registered click is not an order, and a registered order is not yet approved commission: review states, exclusions, and the return window still apply. Investigate a missing state instead of assuming it converted.

Use one link per piece of content; reusing a link across posts merges their numbers forever.
Keep identifiers consistent, for example spring-story-2 rather than a new style each week, so periods stay comparable.
Use the variant label when you test two versions of the same content, and read the difference in the Content tab after enough clicks have accumulated.
Follow the disclosure rules that apply to your advertising relationship on every platform, whatever your link looks like.
Decide your naming pattern once, write it down, and let the identifier auto-fill do the rest. Consistency is what makes month-over-month comparisons meaningful.
